Base camp

Well I have arrived at Pacific Quay on South Bank of Clyde, next door to BBC Scotland. View from bedroom window of the Clyde Auditorium -known as The Armadillo and the SSE Hydro (the round building)
The South Bank is going to be a hub of entertainment over the course of the Games.  Arrived tonight too late to see Celebrity Mastermind. BBC has a box office where you can get tickets for various events on the open air stage or the closed one
Plan of the area around BBC below
Although not truly the menu of the day, the food court is serving a variety of reasonably priced food. It is on a blackboard so I suppose prices might change over the course of the Games. Let's hope not
Everyone one is very friendly and enjoying themselves. Had a chat with a Police Scotland officer who is enjoying the work
More pics from food court area

There is even a sea plane moored up at the Quay. Would be a tight fit going under one of the bridges to get to clear water
It is a beautiful warm evening at the Quay and very pleasant sitting outside and having a pint of Tennants
Tomorrow it all starts. Have my first shift as we prepare for competition starting on Thursday
Some final evening pictures from the Clyde
