Day 5 - Gold, Rain and Rugby

First congratulations to Francesca (Frankie) Jones on winning Wales' first gold of the Games last night in the Individual Ribbon Rhythmic Gymnastics. It was also her last competitive performance as she is retiring. Hopefully her gold will have raised the Team Wales spirits given the events of recent days

Last night and today it's been raining and got rid of some of the mugginess of the last few days and reduced the temperature by a few degrees. Also it is better weather for the Marathon which takes place this morning - resulted in a lot of road closures, including around my hotel. However no disruption to walking!

With another evening shift I've got a ticket for the Rugby Sevens morning session

It's being held at Ibrox, the home of Rangers Football Club. So within a week I have been to both of the football stadiums in Glasgow - never considered that I'd do that

Today's schedule including Australia v Wales later this morning

Yet another good seat - on end of row beside aisle - and I got it half price with my senior discount!

This is where the players enter - note the blue, slightly damp, carpeting

That flag gets everywhere:
